The purchase of Wizards of the coast of the prime numbers of D & D Beyond Calabozos and dragons for your next edition. Today early, Hasbro announced plans to buy D & D Beyond, a popular set of digital tools that serves as a compendium of rules, creator of characters and more for Calaboons and dragons Set of fifth edition rules. D & D BEYOND and similar digital tool sets were one of the factors that contributed to the current success of D & D: by simplifying the creation of characters and the management of characters sheets in a simple step-by-step process that provided instant access to the rules from any Internet connected device, D & D became infinitely more accessible than when it was administered through the use of physical character sheets and rules distributed in several rules books.

WotC To Buy D&D Beyond - What this means for you

It was not exactly a secret that Wizards of the Coast was preparing to acquire or develop its own set of digital tools while preparing to launch a new "continuation" from Dungeons & Dragons in 2024 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the game. Several recent surveys asked fans and players about the importance of a set of digital tools, and a survey even showed a character sheet generated by D & D Beyond as an example. Wizards of the Coast has also published several job offers related to «Dungeons & Dragons Digital». They refer to a new digital product. Since up to 80% of D & D players have played the game online, it made sense that Wizards of the Coast would like a set of digital tools from which it had a stricter control, especially as the digital appearance of the game becomes most prominent.

Wizards of the Coast has not historically had the strongest record with internal digital content. Grows of Dragons and Mazmorras Tools 4E was launched with its own set of D & D Insider Digital Tools in 2007. Due to tragic circumstances, the set of tools was never completely completed and finally closed in 2014, with D & D Beyond as a unofficial successor. When buying D & D Beyond directly, Wizards of the Coast now has a set of tools available to shape future editions of Calaboons and dragons around or that can provide continuous support that can evolve with the game in the coming years.

Both Wizards of the Coast and D & D Beyond have said that D & D Beyond will continue to receive support indefinitely. However, many questions are about the future of the tool set. Now that D & D Beyond is owned by Wizards of the Coast, many players expect future D & D books to have some kind of code to unlock the content of that book in D & D Beyond, or at least receive a discount for that product. While that looks like a logistics nightmare (digital codes are easy to "steal" from physical copies in stores), we could see some kind of expansion in the D & D Beyond subscription service in which physical copies of books are sent to subscribers. There is also the question of the future functionality of D & D Beyond. The aforementioned Wizards of the Coast surveys mentioned a virtual table system, something that D & D Beyond does not have. Since D & D Beyond already has Integrated Encounter Builders, it seems a next Natural Step Create a virtual table system that subscribers can use to preload adventure meetings or use to build their own adventures.

For now, D & D Beyond users should not expect many changes. The sale itself will not be official until the end of this year, and will probably spend more time before the planned direction of Wizards of the Coast is clarified for the set of tools.
