Google: Heavy security gap - Chrome urgently needs an update

Programs to keep up to date is worthwhile. Mostly it is only a few clicks that can save much trouble. Currently Google Chrome needs an update.

Berlin (DPA / TMN) - Google releases a new Chrome version that should install users as soon as possible. With the update, a vulnerability in the browser is eliminated, for whose use already software tools were found on the net, the company warns (more news about digital on Google Chrome).

Google: High risk through current security gap - what users should do

The risk of the vulnerability that concerns the V8-called Java script program component of the browser classifies Google as high. The new, secure chrome version 99.0.4844.84 for Windows, MacOS should be rolled out in the coming days and weeks.

Whether the new version is already there or installed, you check at the top right of the three-point menu under "Help / via Google Chrome". By calling this menu item you can also encourage the installation.

If this does not happen, you should try it again at a later date. Incidentally, Microsoft also made numerous updates in February and March 2022 to close dangerous security gaps.
