Horizon Forbidden West copies animations from its predecessor, harvest Shitstorm

Horizon: Forbidden West is one of the potential top titles in spring 2022. Both the trade press and the clientele are looking forward to the game appearing on February 18 for PS5 and PS4.

And yet Forbidden West can not handle a Shitstorm on Social Media. Is it a legitimate criticism wave, or over an exaggerated Gebecker on an unprecedented game?

What happened?

Ign has released a video a few days ago, in which the gameplay of Forbidden West is compared to that of the predecessor Horizon: Zero Dawn. The biggest changes between the two titles should be presented.

It is noticeable, of course, a high similarity between the animations in the two titles. In fact, some animations were obviously adopted directly from the predecessor. That is not surprising, after all, it is a new part of the same franchise in a relatively close period.

Nevertheless, Guerrilla Games are now accused of some due to this specific cutting of laziness:

How could you dare to demand $ 70 for such a lazy production? 70 dollars! So the tenor under some fans.

Did the developers be lazy?

It is absolutely gear and would be in industry to reuse animations in a continuation. This saves resources, and it would also be meaningless, functioning elements just to adapt to change. It is clear that it would be neither efficient nor sensible to re-enter the complete animation set for a character in a continuation.

Therefore, there are not a few on Twitter who contradict the "Guerrilla Games lazy" argement vehement. Comparisons to other franchises in which it is completely normal to use animations and other assets are also drawn. Surely it may look ulcious on social media to see two identical animations in two different games. But this does not change in itself the potential quality of a video game.
